I also like “Slop Potato” like Hot Potato, since you pass it on to someone else to handle.

People delivering stuff they don't own and don't understand themselves but expecting others to take it from there is a serious problem.

We had a project manager on another product vibe code a big feature one or two customers wanted over a weekend and show it to the PM and C-level. Everyone was amazed of his resourcefulness and demanded engineering to bring that to production.

So a tech lead spent several weeks reviewing it, cleaning the biggest messes to bring it live, disclaimers about its unguaranteed reliability still attached.

All while the actually - for good reasons - prioritised work got delayed.

We just wrote about this problem for AI-generated community PRs: https://commitcapital.substack.com/p/open-source-projects-should-stop

But the thing is, the person at the reviewer level is asking for the work to be completed in half the usual time. So obviously, the jr doesn't have any option other than trusting the Claude grenade and throwing it back.
