Every (tech) department has its people. Sometimes the manager/lead needs to be strict, hard and result-driven, but if possible, I really prefer people-driven instead. But to make that a success, you have to know and understand every individual. A challenge, but it's definitely worth it IMO. People thrive, as long as they feel happy, and as long as they feel understood. Not always possible to give them the perfect task to work on, but they understand you too.
This post is a masterclass in how humility and curiosity can turn leadership into a learning journey, not a status.
